South Korean Acting President Han Duck-soo resigned signalling his intention to run in the June 3 presidential election. Mr Han made the announcement during a press briefing in Seoul, ending weeks of speculation about his candidacy following the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk Yeol.
The South Korean government set June 3 as the date for the presidential election following the impeachment of Yoon, who was ousted after the Constitutional Court upheld his removal over a failed martial law attempt.
