The Karnataka High Court today permitted the State to bring its reply in a sealed cover to a suo motu plea initiated regarding the Bengaluru stampede which occurred last week outside the Chinnaswamy stadium. The suo-moto petition was heard by acting Chief Justice V Kameshwar Rao and Justice C M Joshi. The high court had earlier issued notice to the Karnataka Government to ascertain the cause of the tragedy and to prevent such incidents in future. 11 people lost their lives in the stampede, while over 30 people are stated to have suffered injuries. The matter is now listed for Thursday.
