An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted the Tonga Islands Region at 0438 GMT on Thursday.
The epicentre of the earthquake was at a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 18.40 degrees south latitude and 172.39 degrees west longitude. According to initial reports, no tsunami warning has been issued.
