Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh, along with senior officials from the Ministries, called on Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan in New Delhi .
During the meeting, the Vice-President was apprised of key initiatives and ongoing programmes of the Ministries aimed at promoting scientific research and innovation. Mr Radhakrishnan lauded India’s rise in position from the 81st in 2015 to the 38th in the Global Innovation Index this year.
He also emphasized the importance of ethical biotechnology research, inspiring youth to pursue scientific careers. The Vice President further highlighted rapid improvements in weather forecasting and the vast potential of the country’s blue economy.
