Some weddings are remembered for their scale, others for their style. When Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda tied the knot, their celebrations managed to do both – blending deep-rooted cultural symbolism with striking couture moments. Across the wedding ceremony, sangeet and reception, the couple’s wardrobe told a layered story of heritage, individuality and evolving bridal fashion.
Instead of following predictable trends, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda leaned into meaningful textiles, dramatic silhouettes and subtle role reversals that made their style narrative feel refreshingly personal.
The Wedding: A Tribute To South Indian Heritage
For their wedding ceremony, Rashmika and Vijay turned to designer Anamika Khanna, choosing ensembles that celebrated South Indian textile traditions with contemporary finesse.
Rashmika’s rust-toned saree stood out for its richness and symbolic detailing. Framed with a deep red border, the drape featured intricate temple-inspired motifs that echoed sacred architecture and spiritual geometry. Antique gold embroidery added texture and luminosity, transforming the saree into a statement of craftsmanship and cultural storytelling.
Vijay’s ensemble carried equal weight in symbolism. Drawing inspiration from Hyderabad’s textile legacy, his ivory dhoti silhouette was paired with a striking vermillion angavastram embroidered with forest and temple motifs. The structured yet fluid look balanced strength and grace. One detail that sparked conversation was Vijay’s use of deep red alta on his hands and feet.
The Sangeet: Couture Meets Celebration
If the wedding honoured heritage, the sangeet embraced pure glamour. For the evening festivities, the couple turned to Falguni and Shane Peacock.
Rashmika’s look leaned into modern bridal fantasy. Instead of a classic lehenga, she wore an ivory palazzo-style ensemble with exaggerated flares that created a sweeping effect as she moved. The intricate bejewelling added sparkle while the soft ivory palette kept the overall look ethereal rather than overpowering.
Vijay matched the drama with a striking navy three-piece suit layered with delicate embroidery. The standout element, however, was his statement silver neckpiece featuring a vivid emerald. A lightly embellished cape completed the ensemble, blending structured tailoring with ornamental detailing.
