The September 5 retest will cover candidates unable to complete Sunday’s examination because of internal power failures at two centres.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has announced a NEET-PG re-examination on September 5 for 2,445 candidates affected by technical disruption at two examination centres in Jaipur.
The examination could not be completed at the two iON Digital Zone centres in Sitapura because of internal power-supply problems attributed by the government to examination service provider TCS Ltd.
The affected candidates will take the examination at 3 pm in Jaipur. Venue details and other instructions will be communicated separately, the board said.
NEET-PG 2026 was scheduled for 2,73,096 candidates at 1,111 centres across 339 cities in all states and Union Territories. The government said 2,65,980 candidates appeared and approximately 2,63,535 completed the examination successfully.
NBEMS apologised for the disruption and said the retest would ensure that affected candidates received a fair opportunity. The board did not immediately announce whether further action would be taken against the service provider or centre management.
The incident renewed questions about power redundancy and contingency arrangements at computer-based examination centres. Only candidates affected at the two specified Jaipur centres are eligible for the re-examination.
