Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that the foundations of Iran’s ruling system had “cracked” and that it was doomed to fall any time now.
Making his remarks at a farewell ceremony for outgoing Mossad chief David Barnea on Monday night, he observed that Tehran had already paid a heavy price for its belligerence and acts of terror against Jerusalem.
“The foundations of this terrorist regime in Iran have cracked. It will never return to what it was, and I tell you – it will fall in the end,” Netanyahu said in the official PMO account on X.
He further issued a warning to anyone scheming against Israel, declaring that they too would fail and pay a heavy price for their misadventure.
“Let anyone who plots evil against Israel know that their schemes will fail. The price they will pay will be heavy indeed,” he cautioned.
Lauding Mossad as one of the country’s premier global “brands”, the Israeli premier thanked Barnea for his 30 years of service, which include five years as the agency’s director.
The outgoing Mossad chief also said Israel should remain committed to toppling Iran’s ruling system.
Barnea remarked that the Islamic Republic was at its weakest right now, following the massive damage it suffered in the currently halted war, and that Jerusalem should move forward and “complete the job”.
“I believed, and I still believe, that a change in the reality in Iran by virtue of toppling the regime is a possible and achievable goal,” Barnea said.
He suggested that such a goal would require “persistence, a cool head and commitment to the mission”.
“This mission must remain as our top priority,” he added.
