A total of 750 pilgrims have been selected for this year’s Kailash Manasarovar Yatra. The selection of pilgrims was executed through an online computerised draw in New Delhi today, in the presence of Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan. The first batch of pilgrims will depart for the yatra on the 30th of next month, while the last batch of pilgrims will conclude its yatra on 25th August of this year. A total of 15 batches of 50 pilgrims each will depart for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra this year. Out of 15 batches, five will follow the Lipulekh route and 10 will follow the Nathula route.
Addressing the event, Mr. Vardhan highlighted that elaborate arrangements have been made for the yatra to provide a smooth and secure experience to pilgrims. He added that pilgrims’ security is of top priority, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and other security forces have been deployed. In addition, two dedicated officers will also be with the pilgrims bathing to facilitate them.
