External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar today met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Francisco Pérez Mackenna, this morning. In a social media post, he said that both sides held discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation to diversify markets and sourcing and to promote the export of priority items and facilitate the services economy. They agreed to work closely in plurilateral and multilateral formats. He is visiting India to participate in the two-day BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting starting tomorrow.
The meeting will be chaired by External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar. BRICS Foreign Ministers and Heads of Delegation from Member and Partner Countries will participate in the meeting. They will also call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of BRICS Member Countries will exchange views on global and regional issues of mutual interest.
