Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today released the ‘RAKSHA’ document on Defence Diplomacy in New Delhi. In a statement, the Defence Ministry has said that the comprehensive document outlines India’s strategic roadmap and vision for global defence partnerships over the next ten years.
The Ministry said that the document marks a shift towards more proactive strategic engagement, aligning national security objectives with proactive global cooperation, fostering long-term stability and mutual growth.
The strategic framework focuses on four key pillars. These include strengthening bilateral and multilateral security cooperation, enhancing capacity building through joint military exercises, training programmes and sharing of best practices with friendly nations, promoting indigenous defence exports under the Make in India initiative, and strengthening maritime security.
Defence diplomacy is a key pillar of India’s foreign policy. The ‘RAKSHA’ framework provides an actionable vision for the next decade, ensuring that India remains an anchor of peace, stability, and rule-based order in an evolving global landscape.
