External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar held a trilateral meeting with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Mumbai today. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar described the meeting as a useful exchange of perspectives on energy, connectivity and contemporary developments.

Dr Jaishankar also held talks with Mr Rubio. The two Ministers exchanged views on strengthening India-US ties, focusing on trade, energy, technology, defence and people-to-people ties. They also discussed regional issues, including the West Asia crisis.

Earlier today, Dr Jaishankar met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jaishankar said that despite global headwinds and regional challenges, the India-UAE economic partnership continues to set new benchmarks. He noted that bilateral trade has crossed 100 billion US dollars since the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Dr Jaishankar added that two-way investments continue to grow, reflecting the confidence businesses in both countries have in each other’s economies. He said cooperation in defence, energy and technology is acquiring a strategic character, while people-to-people ties continue to enrich the lives of communities in both countries.
