Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebel group today renewed its warning to airlines, aviation workers and travellers against using Saudi Arabia’s airports and airspace amid escalating cross-border hostilities. In a statement posted on social media platform, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said Saudi airports and airspace, except those serving the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, remained potential targets for the group. The warning came a day after an attack on the domestic flight terminal complex at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh reportedly killed 12 people and injured 309 others. According to reports, the victims included four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshi nationals and one national each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Sudan and Palestine.
