At this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, the actress turned heads in a vibrant Masaba Gupta ‘Patakha’ saree, which was drenched in a luminous pink hue that was equal parts bold and regal.
Taking to her Instagram, Alia Bhatt shared a carousel post which gave fans a glimpse of her Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. She wrote, “Love, blessings & modaks.”The saree itself was a piece of art, taking over 275 hours of intricate embroidery. Its standout elements included Rajasthani-inspired jharokha motifs that mimicked haveli windows, appliqué detailing, and rich golden patchwork. Mughal-style butis shimmered across the drape, while a woven zari border anchored the heritage story. Masaba’s signature burst of colour brought modern energy to the traditional silhouette, making it a piece that resonated with Alia’s youthful yet timeless appeal.
Minimal Blouse, Maximum Impact
Instead of overpowering the ornate saree, Alia chose a minimalist tie-back blouse with thin straps and a lean cut. The fuss-free design allowed the craftsmanship of the drape to take centre stage while adding an understated sensuality that aligned perfectly with her personality.
Stylist Priyanka Kapadia Badani complemented the saree with oversized temple-style jhumkas, detailed with miniature elephants. A stack of golden bangles and a statement ring completed the jewellery story, while the absence of a necklace ensured the earrings commanded attention.
