Alia Bhatt Serves Timeless Elegance in Ivory Chikankari at the Mijwan Show

On Saturday night, Alia Bhatt made a striking appearance at the 15th edition of Manish Malhotra’s Mijwan Fashion Show in Mumbai, bringing an ethereal, old-world glamour to the runway. The actor, who turned showstopper alongside Vicky Kaushal, chose an ivory couture look that placed intricate Indian craftsmanship firmly at the centre of attention. The annual showcase celebrates the chikankari embroidery created by women artisans associated with the Mijwan Welfare Society.

Alia Bhatt’s Ivory Couture Look Was All About Chikankari

Alia walked the runway in a dreamy ivory ensemble featuring elaborate chikankari embroidery, delicate sequins and floral detailing. The soft, monochromatic palette gave the outfit a distinctly bridal, almost vintage quality, while the contemporary cropped blouse brought a modern edge to the silhouette.

Rather than opting for a traditional saree drape, the ensemble played with a lehenga-inspired silhouette, with the embroidered fabric falling fluidly around her frame. A sheer, heavily embroidered dupatta was styled over her head, creating a veil-like effect that made the look feel especially regal. The craftsmanship was the real star. Intricate floral motifs and shimmering embellishments ran across the ivory fabric, allowing the texture and handwork to speak for themselves. Manish Malhotra’s current couture collections continue to feature Mijwan chikankari prominently, with ivory embroidered pieces forming a recurring part of the designer’s aesthetic.
