The annual 38-day Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra that commenced yesterday (July 3) is going on smoothly, from twin routes of Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Baltal in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Yatris were seen very happy and content with all kinds of arrangements, facilities and a secure environment all along the twin routes.
The Holy cave is known for the ice stalagmite that forms within, resembling a Shivlinga. The Cave is situated at an altitude of 12,756 feet in the Himalayas in the Kashmir region
Akashvani Correspondent reports that over 3000 devotees were allowed to proceed towards Chandanwari on the Pahalgam route early this morning. More than 7700 pilgrims were allowed from the Baltal Ganderbal Base Camp towards the sacred Cave Shrine. Officials said over 5600 pilgrims had darshan at the Holy Cave by noon.
