The president of Chile, Gabriel Boric Font, arrived in New Delhi for a five-day visit to India. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, members of parliament, business associations, and prominent Chileans engaged in India-Chile cultural relations. This marks President Boric’s first visit to India as head of state.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar called on President Boric and appreciated his commitment to strengthening India- Chile cooperation. Dr. Jaishankar expressed confidence that the Chilean President’s discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today would foster new partnerships and enhance bilateral engagement.
Later this afternoon, President Boric will hold talks with Prime Minister Modi, covering the full spectrum of India- Chile relations. He will also meet President Droupadi Murmu, who will host a banquet in his honor.
During his visit, President Boric will travel to Agra, Mumbai, and Bengaluru before departing for Chile on April 5. In Mumbai and Bengaluru, he will meet political leaders, business and industry representatives, and technology leaders.
