Diljit Dosanjh Meets PM Narendra Modi, Shares His Views on ‘Mera Bharat Mahaan’

NEW DELHI: Diljit Dosanjh, one of the most celebrated Punjabi singers today, began 2025 with a memorable meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Glimpses from their recent interaction have taken social media by storm, captivating the attention of fans and admirers alike.

During the meeting, the two engaged in a lively conversation on various topics, including the famous phrase “Mera Bharat Mahaan.” In a heartfelt moment, Diljit shared with the Prime Minister, “We used to read about Mera Bharat Mahaan, but when I travelled across the country, I finally understood why we say so.”

PM Modi responded thoughtfully, highlighting India’s vibrant and diverse culture. He said, “In reality, India’s grandeur is its power. India is a vibrant society.”

The Prime Minister also expressed admiration for Diljit’s rise to global fame, saying, “When an Indian youth from the countryside gets fame in the world, it feels nice.” He added, “Your family has named you Diljit… and you just go on to win over the people.”

The interaction also included a beautiful moment where Diljit sang a few lines in Punjabi, paying tribute to Guru Nanak Ji. PM Modi, visibly enjoying the performance, was seen tapping the table to the rhythm of the singer’s melodic tunes.

In addition, the singer and actor spoke about the power of Yoga. Diljit emphasized its transformative effects, to which PM Modi remarked, “Those who have experienced Yoga are actually aware of its power.”

After the meeting, both figures took to social media to share the experience. PM Modi posted a few pictures of the meet on his official X handle (formerly known as Twitter), with the caption: “A great interaction with Diljit Dosanjh! He’s truly multifaceted, blending talent and tradition. We connected over music, culture and more.”

Diljit also shared photos from the meeting, expressing his gratitude and excitement. He wrote, “A fantastic start to 2025. A very memorable meeting with PM @narendramodiJi. We talked about a lot of things, including music, of course.”

On the professional front, Diljit recently wrapped up his two-month “Dil-Luminati India Tour,” which concluded on December 31, 2024, in Ludhiana at the Punjab Agriculture University.
