Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia participated in two high-level task force meetings in New Delhi. These meetings were focused on developing high-performance sports in the North East.Â
During the sports development meeting, Mr Scindia said that proposals for sports development must follow a 60-40 model, with 60 percent focus on human resource development such as world-class coaching, talent scouting and technology-enabled training and 40 percent on infrastructure. The Minister asked all North Eastern States to prepare a comprehensive sports calendar for educational institutions, including inter-state exhibitions, competitions, and exchange programs.
The second meeting discussed connectivity and logistics, infrastructure and value chains, human resources, breeding and productivity enhancement and avenues for expanding credit access and private investment in the region. During this meeting, Mr Scindia stressed that government aims to build a connected, efficient and resilient food ecosystem for the Northeast region.
