At Gaddar Awards 2026, Genelia Deshmukh chose to revisit tradition with intention as she stepped out in a Raw Mango saree. Her look reinterpreted Indian textiles through a lens that felt both rooted and refreshingly current – balancing soft, fluid drapes with striking accents and heirloom jewellery to create a look that quietly stood apart.
At the heart of Genelia Deshmukh’s ensemble was a pale blue-grey saree from Raw Mango. Lightweight and fluid, the drape moved with ease, making it ideal for the summer mood while still holding onto a ceremonial gravitas. The subtle red border tracing the saree added just enough structure, but it was the blouse that transformed the narrative. A red Banarasi silk tissue brocade piece, rich with gold detailing and cut to the elbow, injected depth and contrast.
Rather than letting the saree stand alone, Genelia elevated the look with ornate pieces from Kishandas & Co., including a gemstone-studded necklace, stacked bangles, jhumkas, and a statement ring, which layered the ensemble with traditional richness. The standout, however, was the kamarbandh. More than an accessory, it redefined the drape by drawing attention to the waist and lending structure to the saree’s fluidity. It subtly altered the fall of the pleats, giving the silhouette a sculpted finish.Her glam mirrored the same philosophy of balance. A dewy base paired with kohl-lined eyes and softly tinted lids kept things classic, while a muted, glossy lip ensured the look didn’t feel overpowering. The traditional red bindi anchored the aesthetic. Her hair, braided neatly and adorned with red roses and floral tassels, brought in a poetic, almost bridal softness.
