In Hockey, India’s men’s and women’s teams have clinched the Junior Asia Cup titles at Moqi in China today. The Indian Men’s team defeated South Korea four-one in the final to successfully defend its title. Ajeet Yadav, Anmol Ekka, Prabhdeep Singh and Ashu Maurya scored for India. With this victory, India became the first team in the history of the tournament to win the Men’s title four times, following earlier triumphs in 2015, 2023 and 2024.
The Indian women’s team also emerged victorious, defeating hosts China one-nil in the final. Sanika Chandrakant Mane scored the only goal in the 17th minute to secure the title for India. The victory completed a hat-trick of Junior Asia Cup titles for the Indian women’s team, which had previously won in 2023 and 2024.
Both the Indian men’s and women’s teams have also qualified for the Junior Hockey World Cup by winning their respective Asia Cup titles.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated India’s Junior Women’s Hockey Team on retaining the Asia Cup title with an unbeaten campaign. In a social media post, Mr. Modi said the team’s success reflects the talent and determination of the players and extended his best wishes to the entire team.
The Prime Minister also congratulated the Junior Men’s Hockey Team on winning the Asia Cup with an emphatic 4-1 victory over South Korea in the final. Describing the achievement as remarkable, Mr. Modi said it reflects the immense talent of the young players.

Sharing a social media post, Mr Shah said that their victory and dominant display of sporting prowess will inspire more budding players to join the list of India’s champions. Mr Shah also congratulated Indian junior men’s hockey team for winning the Asia Cup. He added that with the vigour and command of the game, they have once again demonstrated that true mettle of Indian sportsmanship and set an inspiring example for others to follow.
