HM Amit Shah launches BHARATPOL for streamlining Red Corner Notices through INTERPOL

Home Minister Amit Shah launched the BHARATPOL portal developed by the Central Bureau of Investigation in New Delhi today. The BHARATPOL portal is aimed at streamlining the processing of all requests for international assistance through INTERPOL, including the issuance of Red Notices and other colour-coded INTERPOL notices. Speaking on this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, BHARATPOL will take the international investigation into a new era. He said, that now the investigating agencies will be able to connect with Interpol to get the required information. He said it would help in dealing with the cases related to drug trafficking, arms smuggling, terrorism-related crimes, and human trafficking.

On this occasion, Amit Shah presented Police Medals to 35 CBI officers and officials, who have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation.

Our correspondent reports that BHARATPOL portal will significantly facilitate law enforcement agencies to get real-time information. The portal has been developed to deal with transnational crimes including cyber-crime, financial crimes, online radicalization, organized crimes, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. This portal will bring all the stakeholders on a common platform.
