The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange color warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Madhya Pradesh today. The Met Department also predicted heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning over Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Rajasthan, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttarakhand and Sikkim today.
Similar conditions are expected to prevail over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad. Meanwhile, thunderstorms and lightning are also expected over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, West Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and North Interior Karnataka. The IMD said Andaman and Nicobar Islands, South Interior Karnataka, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Telangana are also likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning during the day.
