A group of 50 officials from Nepal has departed for India to participate in a five-day training programme on natural farming, the Indian mission in Kathmandu said.
This is the third batch of Nepali officials to participate in the programme, fully sponsored by the Government of India, at Gurukul, Kurukshetra, from September 29, according to a press release issued by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The first and second batches completed their training in September 2023 and August 2025, respectively, the press release said.
“The initiative reflects the longstanding partnership between India and Nepal in the agriculture sector and the shared commitment of the two countries towards promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible agricultural practices,” it said.
The training programme is part of the Government of India’s initiative to strengthen capacity building and knowledge sharing in natural and sustainable farming practices.
It provides participants an opportunity to gain practical exposure to natural farming techniques and exchange experiences and best practices in sustainable agriculture.
