West Indies captain Hayley Mathews won the toss and chose to bat first, but the decision quickly backfired as the West Indies batters struggled against some exceptional bowling from India. Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma spearheaded the attack, taking 3 and 5 wickets, respectively.
The West Indies had a disastrous start, losing both openers for a duck to Renuka Singh, leaving the score at 1 for 2. Wicketkeeper Shermaine Cambelle attempted to stabilize the innings but failed, while Deandra Dottin fell cheaply for 5, again to Renuka. However, Chinelle Henry and Cambelle managed to stabilize the innings with a solid 91-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Ultimately, the West Indies were bowled out for a mere 162 runs, leaving India with a relatively straightforward target.
India’s chase started with a few hiccups, with Vice-Captain Smriti Mandhana falling for just 4 runs and last match’s centurion, Harleen Deol, dismissed early for 1 run. However, opener Pratika Rawal (18) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (32 off 22 balls) formed a crucial partnership, taking the score to 55 before Rawal’s dismissal.
Jemimah Rodrigues added 29 runs, and Deepti Sharma (39*) and Richa Ghosh (29) guided India to a comfortable victory with 5 wickets remaining.
Renuka Singh was named Player of the Series for her outstanding performance, taking 10 wickets across the three matches. Deepti Sharma was also recognized for her all-round brilliance, claiming 5 wickets for 31 runs and scoring an unbeaten 39 runs.
