Indore Couple Missing Case: Meghalaya Police have recovered the suspected murder weapon — a dao (machete) — along with a mobile phone from the deepest layer of the gorge near Weisawdong Falls. East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed that the search operation, now reaching the third and final layer of the gorge, was carried out by joint teams of the NDRF, SDRF, and the Special Operations Team.
The case involves Indore-based couple Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi, who went missing on May 23 while on their honeymoon in Meghalaya’s Sohra region. Eight days later, the semi-decomposed body of 30-year-old Raja was discovered at the bottom of the gorge near the Weisawdong Falls parking area at Riat Arliang. He was identified by a distinctive “Raja” tattoo on his right hand.
The family of Raja Raghuvanshi, however, demanded a CBI probe into what they believe is a case of murder linked to robbery. Speaking to the media, Raja’s brother Vipin Raghuvanshi said, “We demand a CBI probe in this. We suspect murder due to robbery — his purse and diamond bracelet are missing. It seems Sonam Raghuvanshi has been kidnapped.”
The family has raised serious concerns over the circumstances of Raja’s death and the continued disappearance of his wife, Sonam.

The search for 27-year-old Sonam is still underway. Police have registered a murder case and are treating the circumstances with suspicion.
