Encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists on Thursday morning in the Singhpura area of Chatroo, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar, officials said.
Around 4 terrorists are believed to be trapped in the ongoing operation.
The encounter comes as security forces intensify counter-terror operations in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists.
In response to the attack, India launched Operation Sindoor , targeting terror infrastructure at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.Following this, Pakistan attempted to strike Indian military bases using missiles and drones, but the attacks failed. India responded firmly, targeting multiple Pakistani air bases and military assets.
