Karisma Kapoor Promotes Handloom Craft in Elegant Black and Silver Linen Zari Ensemble

In an era of maximal embellishment and high-shine surfaces, Karisma Kapoor chose a different kind of luxury – one that spoke through texture, heritage and restraint. Her appearance in a black-and-silver ensemble by EKA felt less like a fashion statement and more like a lesson in modern Indian dressing, where craftsmanship replaced excess and fabric became the focal point.

The look brought handwoven linen zari to the forefront, a textile traditionally prized for comfort but rarely explored for its festive potential. Karisma Kapoor’s ensemble quietly challenged that perception, positioning the fabric as both elegant and occasion-ready.

Titled Ophelia, the dress by EKA featured a tiered construction that fell fluidly from shoulder to hem. Pintuck detailing defined the yoke, lending structure to an otherwise relaxed silhouette. Delicate scalloped organza trims introduced softness, while hand-embroidered zardozi borders along the neckline and hem added measured richness. The dress was from the Festive ’25 collection. Crafted by weavers from Bhagalpur, the dress balanced lightness with celebration. It was opulent without ever feeling ornate.
