India launched retaliatory strikes at major Pakistani cities, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore, in response to repeated ceasefire violations across the border as tensions escalated overnight. Indian strikes struck three key military air bases in Pakistan, as well as Pakistani posts in Sialkot and Narowal.
According to sources, India used air-to-surface missiles and drones in the strikes. Pakistan lost major air assets in the attack, and they could not start their machines, they added. However, the Pakistan Army claimed there were no casualties or material losses in the attack.
This came after Pakistan launched a fresh drone strike at 26 locations in India, from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat on Friday, amid escalating tensions between the two neighbouring countries. These attacks were thwarted by the Indian air defence systems. Three people from a family were injured in Punjab’s Ferozpur after debris from a Pakistani drone fell on a house in a residential area. The victims were rushed to a private hospital.
On Thursday, Pakistan launched 300-400 drones at 36 locations across northern and western India, just a day after New Delhi launched strikes against terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). India also swarmed Islamabad, Lahore and Rawalpindi with drones, launching multiple retaliatory strikes, and forces shot down an F-16 fighter jet in Rajasthan.
