Facebook’s parent company META today announced that it will establish its first AI-enabled data centre in India. As part of the agreement, META and Reliance Industries will build a data centre with 168 megawatts of capacity at Jamnagar in Gujarat, which META will lease, with options to scale.
The data centre underscores Meta’s commitment to India, bringing world-class infrastructure to power the products and AI capabilities closer to one of the world’s most dynamic digital markets. In a statement, the global company stated that India’s massive user base and fast-growing digital economy make it an ideal place to invest. This world-class facility in Jamnagar will help the company to scale the AI infrastructure globally while deepening long-term investment in India’s economy.
