MoS Shobha Karandlaje leads Indian delegation at International Labour Conference in Geneva

Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje led the Indian delegation at the 114th International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva, Switzerland. It underlines India’s commitment to inclusive growth, gender equality, and social dialogue. Her engagements reflected a strong, coordinated diplomatic presence with participation in discussions and a series of high-level bilateral meetings yesterday.

On the sidelines of the conference in Geneva, she also held a series of bilateral meetings. Ms Karandlaje informed that she met the Minister for Labour and Employment of Nepal, Ramjee Yadav. During the meeting, India highlighted that Nepal remains a priority partner for India under our Neighbourhood First policy, while Nepal appreciated India’s digital portals. Both Ministers discussed enhancing cooperation in the areas of skill development, labour mobility, and sharing digital technology.

She also met the Minister of Labour and Social Security of Angola, Teresa Rodrigues Dias. During the meeting, both leaders discussed various issues of mutual interest, including strengthening cooperation in Labour and Employment, skills development, vocational training, social protection and workforce training.

In her bilateral meeting with the Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations of Mauritius, Muhammad Reza Casam Uteem, Ms Karandlaje appreciated the close and long-standing relations between the two countries anchored in shared history, culture, democratic values and deep people-to-people ties.
