Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended best wishes to the countrymen on the first anniversary of the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and recalled the “centuries of sacrifice” to build the temple.
The historic ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram temple took place on January 22, 2024, with PM Modi performing the main rituals. A massive influx of devotees is seen in the city to mark the celebrations.“Best wishes to all the countrymen on the first anniversary of the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. This temple, built after centuries of sacrifice, penance and struggle, is a great heritage of our culture and spirituality,” wrote PM Modi in an X post.
“I am confident that this divine and magnificent Ram temple will become a great inspiration in the accomplishment of the resolution of a developed India,” the Prime Minister added.The first anniversary celebrations, scheduled from January 11 to 13, aim to include common people who were unable to attend the historic ceremony last year, alongside around 110 invited VIPs, according to the temple trust.In a statement, the UP government said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the program and perform the ‘Abhishek’ of Ram Lalla.
“Ram Lalla will be dressed up in a ‘Pitambari’ (yellow attire) on the first day of ‘Pratishtha Dwadashi’. The dress is being prepared in Delhi. Its weaving is being done with gold and silver threads,” it said.
A German hangar tent has been installed at the Angad Teela site, capable of hosting up to 5,000 people. Common people will have the opportunity to witness the grand event, which includes classical cultural performances, rituals, and daily Ram Katha discourses at the pavilion and ‘Yagnashala’.
“The trust has decided to invite common people who could not attend the initial consecration ceremony last year. They will be allowed to join all three days of events at Angad Teela,” said Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
