In a swift and precise response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Air Force launched Operation Sindoor, targeting only terrorist camps and infrastructure used as launchpads for cross-border terrorism. The strikes focused exclusively on terror facilities linked to banned outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), deliberately avoiding any Pakistani military installations to prevent escalation.

The operation neutralized 21 terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir, including key sites such as:
- Bahawalpur, Punjab: The main JeM headquarters, a 6.5-acre complex used for indoctrination, training and planning terrorist activities, linked to the 2019 Pulwama attack.
- Muridke, Punjab: LeT’s primary training and ideological hub, where attackers involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, including Ajmal Kasab, were trained.
- Sarjal/Tehra Kalan, Narowal District: A critical JeM infiltration and drone operation launch site located just 6 km from the India-Pakistan border.
- Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot: Hizbul Mujahideen’s training camp involved in planning attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Barnala, PoK: A major logistics and training base for militants operating in Poonch, Rajouri, and Reasi regions.
- Kotli, PoK: It Is used for planning and launching infiltration missions into the Poonch–Rajouri belt. Camps specializing in weapons training, sniper tactics and infiltration missions.
- Muzaffarabad, PoK: Transit point for operatives infiltrating Jammu and Kashmir. LeT and JeM camps providing weapons and explosives training, supported by Pakistan’s Special Services Group.
These camps served as indoctrination centers, training grounds and launchpads for terrorists who have repeatedly targeted Indian civilians and security forces. ‘Operation Sindoor’ was based on credible intelligence, aiming to dismantle this terror infrastructure and prevent future attacks. The strikes were focused, measured and non-escalatory, demonstrating India’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty while targeting only terror facilitators.
