Piyush Goyal calls for stronger India-Estonia trade and technology partnership at business forum in Tallinn

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday called for deeper collaboration between India and Estonia in trade, investment, innovation and technology while addressing the India-Estonia Business Forum in Tallinn during his official visit to the Baltic nation.

The forum brought together senior government representatives, industry leaders and business delegations from both countries to explore new opportunities for expanding bilateral economic cooperation and strengthening commercial ties.

The event began with welcome remarks by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, followed by the inaugural address by Goyal.

In his address, the Union Minister highlighted India’s economic transformation over the past two decades and underscored its emergence as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies. He said India’s sustained economic growth, expanding manufacturing sector, vibrant innovation ecosystem and reform-oriented policy framework have created significant opportunities for global businesses and investors.

Goyal also highlighted India’s growth story and invited Estonian companies to explore investment opportunities across a wide range of sectors.

Senior Estonian government officials presented an overview of the country’s business ecosystem, digital governance model and innovation-driven economy. Representatives of Indian industry shared their perspectives on India’s expanding investment potential and the growing scope for business collaboration between the two countries.

The business forum served as a platform for discussions on expanding bilateral trade, encouraging investments, fostering innovation-led partnerships and identifying opportunities in emerging sectors such as digital technologies, start-ups and advanced manufacturing.

Networking sessions held during the forum enabled direct interactions between business leaders and stakeholders from India and Estonia, facilitating discussions on new commercial partnerships and investment prospects.

The day’s engagements concluded with a networking reception hosted by the Ambassador of India to Estonia, providing an opportunity for industry representatives from both countries to strengthen business-to-business connections and deepen broader economic and people-to-people ties.
