Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) completed 12 consecutive months without any operational casualties for the first time in 47 years.
In a social media post, Mr Modi said, a zero that speaks volumes. The paramilitary force has not suffered a single operational fatality anywhere in the country over a year.
In a social media post, CRPF Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh shared data on operational fatalities in the force over the last fifty years, noting that the last fatality was on 30th October last year.
He said improved hardware, better training, strategic planning and deployment and quick injured evacuation to secondary and tertiary medical care facilities have contributed to this. Mr Singh added that a game-changer has been round-the-clock helicopter and air ambulance support during high-intensity operations in all operating theatres.
