Prime Minister #NarendraModi’s #ParivartanYatra, initially scheduled for December 29 in #Rohini, Delhi, has been postponed due to the seven-day #NationalMourning announced in honor of former Prime Minister #DrManmohanSingh.
Dr. Singh, a distinguished economist and India’s #14thPrimeMinister, passed away on Thursday night at #AIIMSDelhi at the age of 92. The mourning period, which extends until January 1, 2025, has led to the rescheduling of several government events as a mark of respect.
The #BharatiyaJanataParty (#BJP) had planned to kickstart its campaign for the #DelhiAssemblyElections with PM Modi’s rally in Rohini. The event has now been rescheduled to January 5, 2025.
Party insiders revealed that the Prime Minister is expected to make #KeyAnnouncements for Delhi during the rescheduled rally. Additionally, another significant rally is planned for #January3,2025.
As part of the original schedule, PM Modi was set to lay the #FoundationStone for a new Metro line in #Rithala and address a gathering at #JapanesePark in Rohini on December 29. However, the new dates for the foundation stone-laying ceremony are yet to be finalized.
The #ElectionCommissionOfIndia has not yet announced the dates for the 70-member #DelhiAssemblyElections, though they are expected to take place in February 2025, as the current Assembly’s term ends on #February23,2025.
