In Punjab, seven associates of the radical preacher and Lok Sabha MP Amritpal Singh have been produced before a court in Amritsar’s Ajnala, today, under heavy police deployment, and the court remanded them for another three days to police custody until March 28th. They were involved in attacking Ajnala Police Station in 2023.
DSP Gurvinder Singh said that the case was registered on 250 persons out of which 39 have been arrested.
After bringing the seven back from Assam’s Dibrugarh Jail on March 21st and producing them in court, they were remanded to police custody till today. All seven were detained in Dibrugarh Jail under National Security Act (NSA).
