Uttarakhand: 629 Rescued Amid Ongoing Operations in Dharali-Harsil Region

In Uttarakhand, relief and rescue operations are in full swing in the disaster-affected Dharali-Harsil area of Uttarkashi district. Central and state government agencies are engaged in providing relief to the affected as well as searching for missing people and restoring basic amenities.

Meanwhile, with the cooperation of the Army, NDRF, SDRF, police and local administration, the rescue operation of pilgrims and local citizens stranded in the disaster-affected areas is going on. So far 629 people have been rescued. The pilgrim who came from Maharashtra expressed gratitude to the Army and the state government for this.

District Magistrate Prashant Arya mentioned that an amount of Rs 5,000 has been provided to each affected family as immediate relief. He said that after preparing a detailed report of the loss, the necessary relief will also be released soon.

On the other hand, State Director General of Police Deepam Seth on Friday conducted a field inspection of relief and rescue operations in the disaster-affected Harsil-Dharali area. The Director General of Police said that the priority is to find the missing people in the tragedy as soon as possible.

The Director General of Police also directed to take strict action against those spreading misleading information on social media regarding the Dharali disaster.
