Janakpur, Nepal, January 11: The historic city of Janakpur in Nepal celebrated the first anniversary of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla’s idol at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir on Saturday by lighting 1.25 lakh lamps.
Organized by the Dhanusha chapter of Bishwo Hindu Parisad Nepal, the grand event featured a variety of religious and cultural activities, including Jhaki, Hawan, Ganga Aarti, and a rangoli display at the Janaki Temple premises.
The youth wing of Bishwo Hindu Parisad Nepal, Janaki Sena, was responsible for overseeing the arrangements for the celebrations.
Ashutosh Jha, national spokesperson for Janaki Sena, remarked, “Last year, we organized a similar event with 1.25 lakh lamps, Jhaki, Hawan, and other activities. This year, we continue the tradition by lighting 125,000 lamps, performing Ganga Aarti for Janaki Ji, and creating a rangoli at the temple.”
Meanwhile, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ram Lalla’s Mahabhishek ceremony was performed at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple to commemorate the first anniversary of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ event.
The celebrations in both Janakpur and Ayodhya were organized in accordance with the Hindu calendar, marking the alignment of the Shukla Paksha on January 11.
Ram Tapeshwor Das, Chief Mahant of Janaki Temple, expressed the collective joy of the community, saying, “On the first anniversary of our son-in-law’s homecoming, all the residents of Janakpur and Mithila are overflowing with happiness. We pray that this anniversary is celebrated with fervor across all regions.”
In Ayodhya, the anniversary was marked by a large influx of devotees, with a series of religious ceremonies including Agnihotra rituals, chanting of 6 lakh Shri Ram Mantras, and recitations of the Ram Raksha Stotra and Hanuman Chalisa.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on January 22, 2024. The temple’s construction is progressing rapidly, with hopes of completing the entire Ram Mandir complex within the first half of 2025.
