Election Commission Says Internal Verification Is Part of Standard Practice

Election Commission has said that written notes and internal checks are standard, ongoing practice, meant to ensure transparency and legal compliance and these are not signs of dysfunction. In a statement Election Commission said, all official orders and decisions carry full legal sanction under the 2023 Act governing the Commission’s conduct of business. It said, every officer of the Commission, not just the three Commissioners, is authorised to give suggestions for improving the electoral system. The Poll Body said, it has introduced around 40 new initiatives in the past year, all outcomes of unanimous decisions of the full Commission. In this same period, the Commission successfully conducted elections in Bihar, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Assam and West Bengal.
