Guwahati Police have registered an FIR against Samay Raina and all the judges on his show India’s Got Latent under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The FIR names Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others, accusing them of promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions.
“Today Guwahati Police has registered an FIR against against certain Youtubers and social Influencers, namely Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina and others for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion in a show titled India’s Got Latent,” wrote CM Sarma.
He added, “Guwahati Crime Branch has registered a case vide Cyber PS case no 03/2025 under sections – 79/95/294/296 of BNS 2023 read with Sec 67 of IT Act, 2000, read with Section 4/7 of Cinematograph Act 1952 read with Section 4/6 of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.”
Biswa further said that an investigation into the matter is underway.
Allahbadia’s controversial “sex” question
The FIR follows closely on the heels of Allahbadia’s controversial “sex” question and other inappropriate remarks on the show.
Amid the social media uproar, Mumbai Police visited the location where the “pointless reality show” was recorded. They have since left the Khar studio.
Bombay High Court advocate Satyam Surana filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police against host Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia and others.
“…The video that went viral shows Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahabadia and other co-panellists inciting such sexually explicit content and making such sexually explicit and obscene remarks. It is highly troubling to the common Indian mind like mine. For a person who is active in the legal field, I prefer to take the legal recourse to get such people to task and it is necessary that we as a society speak up against it…,” Surana told
