Greenland PM slams US over ‘Aggressive’ Visit as Trump calls it act of friendship

Greenland Prime Minister Mute B. Egede has slammed the United States by calling their planned visit very aggressive American pressure. The planned visit to Greenland by the Trump Administration will be led by Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, along with White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright.

In an interview with Greenlandic newspaper, Prime Minister Egede questioned the US national security advisor’s presence in Greenland and said the only purpose is to demonstrate power over Greenland.

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has said that the visit by the US delegation to Greenland is crucial from the international security point of view. Mr Trump further called the visit an act of friendship.

Meanwhile, Egede’s left-wing party, Inuit Ataqatigiit, lost the island’s parliamentary elections. However, Egede will stay on as prime minister until a new governing coalition is formed.
