Violent weather from Storm Claudia killed three people and injured dozens in Portugal. Authorities said, 28 people were injured, while two of them were in the hospital with serious injuries. Portuguese weather service IPMA placed the entire Algarve and districts of Beja and Setubal on amber alert.
Storm Claudia has also caused significant flooding in parts of Wales overnight. The town of Monmouth was worst hit after a river burst its banks and surrounding areas in southeastern Wales. A government spokesperson said, the storm has badly affected homes, businesses, transport and energy infrastructure.
