‘Invincible Warrior’: Joint military exercise between India and Britain, soldiers displayed bravery on the soil of Rajasthan

The joint military exercise “Ajeya Warrior 2025” between India and the United Kingdom began on Monday. The exercise is taking place at the Foreign Training Node of the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. This bilateral exercise will continue from November 17 to 30, providing new impetus to strategic cooperation between the two countries. This military exercise also symbolizes the growing strategic trust between the armies of the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Defence, a total of 240 soldiers are participating in this year’s exercise, with equal representation from the Indian Army and the British Army. India’s participation includes soldiers from the prestigious Sikh Regiment, renowned for their valour, discipline, and combat skills. The joint training with selected soldiers from the British Army aims to further strengthen interoperability. This military exercise has been designed under a United Nations mandate. Soldiers from both countries will gain real-world experience in counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban and complex terrain.

Training modules have been specially designed for the troops of both countries. These modules will realistically simulate the challenges of a modern battlefield. Both armies will participate in several important activities in the coming days. These include brigade-level joint mission planning, integrated tactical drills, and simulation-based operational scenarios. They will also conduct company-level field training exercises and practice counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban areas.

All these activities simulate realistic situations to equip soldiers with the skills to deal with potential ground challenges. An important objective of Exercise Ajeya Warrior is to exchange best practices between the two armies, including operational planning, communications, coordination, and the use of weapon systems. This collaboration not only enhances the tactical capabilities of the troops but also strengthens strategic synergy between the armies of the two countries.

Inaugurated in 2011, Exercise Ajeya Warrior has now become the flagship joint training event between the two armies. Held every two years, it strengthens India and the UK’s long-standing defense cooperation. The 2025 edition is particularly significant as it further reinforces both countries’ professional excellence, spirit of cooperation, and shared commitment to regional and global peace and stability.
