In his podcast, Pakistan’s strategic expert, Dr. Kamar Cheema, addressed the issue of Pakistan’s missile program. While conversing with Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Dean of the Political Science and International Relations Department at Quaid-e-Azam University, Cheema questioned whether the U.S. views Pakistan’s missile program as a threat to Israel.
Dr. Jaspal explained that Pakistan’s Shaheen-3 missile can strike targets as far as 2,700 kilometers, giving Pakistan the capability to target any region in Israel. He further mentioned that there is no need for Pakistan to develop a new missile program specifically aimed at Israel. However, he stressed that Pakistan has not shown any intention of targeting Israel.
Dr. Jaspal stated that while political party members in Pakistan may make statements against Israel, the Pakistani government has not issued any military threats against the Jewish nation. He further added that Pakistan’s missile capabilities could reach not only Israel but also India’s Eastern Command, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
