Janhvi Kapoor embraced heritage and craftsmanship at the special screening of Umrao Jaan in an archival ensemble from House of Kotwara.
Janhvi took to Instagram and posted a reel wearing the chikankari anarkali enhanced with intricate mukesh work. Styled by celebrity fashion stylist Manisha Melwani, Janhvi’s ensemble featured a ivory and beige chikankari anarkali with mukesh work and paired it with a beige intricately embroidered dupatta.
House of Kotwara is known for taking the traditional embroidery techniques and applying them in classic and contemporary silhouettes and Manisha and Janhvi together created magic with this timeless look. Draped to perfection, the embroidered dupatta beautifully draped on Janhvi by Manisha, was not only hassle free but also added a touch of regal charm to Janhvi’s overall style.
Janhvi celebrated her traditional look by posting a reel on Instagram, which she dedicated to Rekha, who she lovingly calls Pedamma. Janhvi wrote: For my Pedamma #UmraoJaan the classic, in theatres all over India from tomorrow.Another reason the chikankari ensemble adorned by Janhvi Kapoor is special is because it’s from the couture label founded by filmmaker Muzaffar Ali, who also happens to be the director of the film, Umrao Jaan. Muzaffar co-founded the label along with his wife, designer Meera Ali. Janhvi’s anarkali is timeless because it blends cultures and also takes inspiration from the films directed by Muzaffar Ali.
