A total of 101 Afghan inmates imprisoned in Pakistan have been set free and returned to their homeland Afghanistan, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the ministry’s statement, the detainees returned to Afghanistan Monday through the Spin Boldak crossing point in southern Kandahar province.

Last week, 223 Afghan nationals imprisoned in Pakistan were freed and returned to their home country.

The government of Pakistan is set to deport 3 million Afghans to their home country in 2025.
