In Chhattisgarh, nine Maoists surrendered to the police today in Bijapur district. A total reward of twenty -four lakh rupees was declared on six of these Maoists. All the Maoists who surrendered were given an incentive amount of fifty-fifty thousand rupees under the rehabilitation policy of the state government.
Meanwhile, a Maoist has been killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur district today. The encounter took place in the Gangalur region. Security forces have recovered arms along with the body of killed Maoist from the spot.
