The United Arab Emirates has dispatched a fourth plane carrying 38 tonnes of humanitarian aid for those affected by devastating flooding in Nepal, Emirati news agency WAM reported.
The aid included, among other things, 500 tents and 108 humanitarian relief kits, the report said on Tuesday.
Previously, the UAE had sent three planes to Nepal carrying 148 tonnes of humanitarian aid, as well as a rescue team. In total, the UAE has announced the allocation of $10 million in urgent humanitarian aid for those affected by the severe flooding and landslides in the country.
Flooding struck northern Nepal on the morning of August 26 after a powerful torrent of water swept into the Bhotekoshi River. The flooding occurred after a glacier retreated and triggered a landslide. The death toll from the flooding in the country has exceeded 1,300.
