Poland Seeks to Deepen Trade and Economic Partnership with India

Poland has called for stronger and more stable economic and trade ties with India, with Polish Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domański describing India as a global economic leader and an important partner.

DomaÅ„ski said Poland sees India as a major, fast-growing economy and a democracy with which it wants to build long-term commercial relations, reports said.

Speaking on the sidelines of the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting in Milwaukee, the Polish minister said Warsaw wants Poland, the European Union and India to become much closer trade partners.

He stressed that greater predictability in economic relations is increasingly important in a rapidly changing global environment, adding that India-Poland trade relations still have significant potential for further expansion.

India and Poland upgraded their ties to a Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Warsaw in August 2024.

An action plan for 2024 to 2028 covers trade and investment, defence and security, technology, energy and other areas, while India and the European Union are also pursuing deeper trade and investment cooperation.
