In a distinctive push for inclusive leadership, the Election Commission has directed that at least one polling station per Assembly Constituency be run exclusively by women or persons with disabilities during the Bihar Assembly Election. This means all election staff, including security, will be women in those stations.
Besides, youngest eligible employees will be deployed in at least one station per district to bring fresh energy and accountability. These measures are aimed to send strong signals about participation, representation and empowerment in the very mechanics of democracy.
